I stopped by to visit Roger at Standard Machine.  They are the ones that have my stock 340 block.  They finished steelabrating it and brought the block back inside, then did a sonic check of the cylinders.  I was also there to drop off the main caps I bought from someone on the Moparts message board who saved them from a wrecked 340.  I explained to Roger the main caps did not come from this block, and he put them on my block – he was surprised at how close the fit was.  He will align bore them.  He is really busy with customers wanting their stuff worked on for ET Finals here (this weekend).  I took pictures of my block at the shop.
