Testing MSD 6AL Box…
It works!
I finished wiring up the 6AL this morning except for the tachometer wire. I temporarily put a 3000 RPM limiter chip directly into the 6AL, and then I had Shelley stand by the engine bay to let me know if anything was smoking or caught on fire when. I turned the kill switch to on… nothing smoking or getting hot so far. Good. So, I get in the car and turn the ignition to the "run" position. The voltmeter needle goes down a bit, like usual. Still nothing smoking, or getting hot. Excellent. So here goes… I turn the key to start and VROOOM! It sounds really good. The car is running and I wanted to see if the RPM limiter was working. So I press the gas down… and it sounds like a machine gun when pushed against 3000 RPM. Awesome! It is definitely working, and I am so thrilled.
Next up is to wire up that 3-step.
