[Update: There is now a newer version of the practice tree program!  Go here for it: http://www.herboldracing.com/2009/06/21/herbold-racing-practice-tree-version-2]

Today I made a little practice tree program.  I tried finding one on the internet somewhere to download, but all the ones I found that were free sucked really bad – they were more toys for giggles than true practice trees.  So, I decided to channel a little bit of my free time energy into making one.  It is a very simple Windows application and should run on just about everybody’s PC.  It is no-frills and is geared entirely towards providing you with a way to actually practice your timing.

Download it here:

Here is a short feature list:

  • Has .400 and .500 Pro and Sportsman trees.
  • Left, Right, or Random lane choices.
  • No opponent, or bracket style opponent, or heads up style opponent.
  • Background choice of night or day.
  • High precision mode toggle – with high precision mode on the software is not friendly to other background tasks running on your PC (it becomes a CPU hog).
  • Setting of car roll out time, which is the time between the moment you release the brake to the moment the front tire leaves the staging beams.
  • Delay box.
  • Courtesy staging warning (reminds you to courtesy stage if you didn’t).

I am totally open to suggestions!  To make a suggestion or give me feedback just comment on this post.
